Espresso Mar'TDs vs The HenDawgs — Week 3 Recap

The Result

Final score: 93.34 (Espresso Mar'TDs) to 159.14 (The HenDawgs), a 65.8-point rout that isn't close on paper or in practice. Mikkel's side missed its own projection by a mile, landing at 93.34 against a projected 112.45. Peter's team did the opposite — projected for 117.98 and instead put up 159.14, blowing past its own number by more than 40 points.

The Correction

The preview called it: "predicted winner: The HenDawgs (Peter), by 5.21." The HenDawgs won, alright — just by 65.8 instead of the modest 5.21 I hung on it. Direction right, magnitude nowhere close, but a hit is a hit. Verdict: correct. Season record stands at 3 of 13.

Who Delivered, Who Didn't

Jaxon Smith-Njigba carried the show for The HenDawgs, going for 30.36 actual against an 18.46 projection — nearly double what was expected. George Kittle backed him up with 23.2 actual on a 10.24 projection, more than doubling his number too. Joe Burrow chipped in 22.58 against 18.04 projected, a clean beat at the position that mattered most.

On the other side, it was a face-plant across the board. The Green Bay Packers defense cratered to -1 actual against an 8.84 projection — that's a nearly ten-point miss in the wrong direction. Isaiah Likely managed just 2.3, and Marvin Harrison barely registered at 5.5.

The Bench

Espresso Mar'TDs left real production on the bench while starting worse options. Jakobi Meyers scored 15.9 unused while the Packers defense started and put up -1 — a swing of 16.9 points. Pat Bryant sat with 13.4 on the bench while Isaiah Likely started and returned only 2.3, costing 11.1. And Keenan Allen scored 15.3 on the bench while Courtland Sutton started for just 6.1, another 9.2 points left on the table.

The Swing

This one wasn't decided by a single lineup call, and the numbers back that up: even the biggest bench regret — the 16.9 points from sitting Meyers over the Packers D — doesn't come close to closing a 65.8-point margin. Flagged correctly as not decided by a lineup decision. This was a beatdown, not a coin flip.

The HenDawgs won four of five position groups, and won them by margins that add up fast — a 31.1 RB gap and a 20.9 TE gap are the kind of numbers that end matchups before halftime.

Standings Impact

Both teams entered at 1-1, and this result reshuffles that picture hard — Peter's group backs its 10.22 point differential with a statement week, while Mikkel's side, already sitting on a -16.96 differential, now has to answer for a nine-figure miss on its own projection. With 6 wins needed for the playoffs and 4 or fewer risking last place — the Pink — and 11 weeks still to play, nobody's fate is sealed. But this is not the week either side wanted to be defined by.
