The HenDawgs vs Armadildos — Week 4 Preview

The Line

The HenDawgs project for 127.53, the Armadildos for 111.06, putting Peter up a projected 16.47 points. Both teams sit at 2-1, so the records don't give you any disagreement to chew on here — this is just a case of one 2-1 team projecting clearly better than the other 2-1 team. Records agree there's no separation in the win column, but the projections say there's plenty of separation on the field.

Where It's Decided

PositionHomeEdgeAwayDelta
QB—17.8—
RB—43.1—
WR—26.7—
TE—13.9—
DEF—8.6—

WR is the headline gap here — 12.79 points separating the two receiving corps is the single biggest swing on this sheet, and it's the main reason the spread sits where it does. RB isn't far behind at 8.05, which means Peter isn't winning this projection on one position alone — he's stacking two different advantages on top of each other. The Armadildos claw a little back at TE (-4.09 in their favor) but that's nowhere near enough to cancel out what's happening at WR and RB.

The Swing Players

Jonathan Taylor leads all starters at 20.19 projected, with Derrick Henry right behind him at 19.62 — that RB room is doing real work for whichever roster owns those two, and it lines up with the 8.05 RB delta on the board. Joe Burrow projects for 19.31, which tracks with the near-even QB spot. The one injury flag on the sheet is Tony Pollard, listed Questionable and still projected for 8.56 — worth watching, but even at that number he's not close to moving a line built on a 16.47-point gap. No empty starting slots to worry about on either side.

The Record vs The Process

The HenDawgs are 2-1 with 388.38 points for against 312.36 against, a differential of +76.02. The Armadildos are also 2-1, scoring 294 with 250.98 against for a +43.02 differential. Same record, very different process — Peter's point differential is nearly double Sebastian's, which tells me the HenDawgs' wins have come with more margin for error, while the Armadildos' 2-1 has been a tighter squeeze. Records can lie about who's actually playing better; the differential here says Peter's been the stronger team even before you get to this week's projections.

Stakes

The league needs 6 wins to make the playoffs, and 4 or fewer risks landing in last place — Pink. With 10 weeks remaining after this one in a 14-week season, both of these 2-1 clubs have plenty of runway left, but it's worth banking wins now rather than later. On the power rankings, Peter holds the 1 spot in human consensus while Sebastian sits at 9.5 — a gap that the agent doesn't have ranks or movement data to weigh in on, but the human voters clearly see this as lopsided, and the projection doesn't disagree.

The Call

I'm calling the HenDawgs (Peter) by 16.47. The HenDawgs project ahead across RB and WR by sizable margins (8.05 and 12.79), and with Peter holding the #1 human consensus ranking versus Sebastian's 9.5, the sizable projected edge looks well-supported.
