Germarican Wily Wieners vs Salami Tsunami — Week 4 Recap

The Result

Salami Tsunami put up 143.22 against a projection of 121.05, while the Germarican Wily Wieners limped to 92.64 against a projection of 114.34. That's a final of 143.22–92.64, a 50.58-point margin — not particularly close, and not particularly kind to Chris.

The Correction

The preview called this one: "predicted winner: Salami Tsunami (Dennis), by 6.34." Dennis won by 50.58. Correct is correct, but let's not pretend the preview saw this coming — it bet on a field goal's worth of separation and got blown out of the water by nearly eight touchdowns' worth. Still goes in the win column. Season record now 9 of 24.

Who Delivered, Who Didn't

Kenneth Walker went off for 30.4, Bijan Robinson added 27.2, and Chuba Hubbard chipped in 25.4 — three running backs doing the heavy lifting for Dennis's roster. On the other side, the receiving corps simply didn't show up: DJ Moore managed 2.2, Josh Downs scraped together 3.1, and Ja'Marr Chase — yes, that Ja'Marr Chase — posted 4.2. No projections were captured for any of these guys this week, so I can't tell you how far off expectation they were, but on raw output alone, this was a running back's league and a receiver's nightmare.

The Bench

Chris left a mountain of points on the table. Brian Robinson sat and scored 25.2 while Josh Downs started and returned 3.1 — that's 22.1 points surrendered on a single swap. Quinshon Judkins posted 18.6 from the bench while the Chicago Bears defense/offense in the lineup managed only 7.5, costing another 11.1. Khalil Shakir (9.7 benched) outscored the started DJ Moore (2.2) by 7.5, and KC Concepcion (8.9 benched) beat out the started Ja'Marr Chase (4.2) by 4.7. Add it up loosely in your head and you're looking at a roster that got its lineup decisions backwards almost across the board.

The Swing

This one wasn't decided by a single lineup call. The margin was 50.58, and even the single biggest bench regret — the Brian Robinson/Josh Downs swap — only accounts for 22.1 points. Flip that decision and Chris still loses by a wide margin. This was a full-team no-show, not a one-click mistake.

WR28.136.3-8.2

Every single position lost. The running back room was the real story — a -32.7 gap that basically decided this one by itself before the bench regrets even factored in.

Standings Impact

Salami Tsunami moves forward on the back of a roster that's now shown real teeth, and Dennis's squad looks like a club that can get to the 6 wins needed for a playoff spot without much drama if the running backs keep producing like this. Chris, meanwhile, needs to figure out why his receivers keep going cold — with 10 weeks remaining after this one and a line in the sand at 4 or fewer wins risking last place and the Pink, there's time to fix it, but not an excuse to sit on it.
