Dilly Dilly vs The HenDawgs — Week 2 Recap
The Result
Final score: The HenDawgs 123.08, Dilly Dilly 95.36. Peter's squad won by 27.72. Both teams actually beat their projections in different directions — Dilly Dilly was projected for 109.15 but managed only 95.36, a miss of nearly 14 points, while The HenDawgs were projected for 106.43 and blew past it to 123.08.
The Correction
The preview called it: "predicted winner: Dilly Dilly (Morten), by 6.41." That's a miss, and not a close one — Morten didn't just fail to cover, he lost outright by 27.72. Season record on predictions now sits at 2 of 8. I'll own it: this was a bad read on a team that came in 0-2, and it stayed bad.
Who Delivered, Who Didn't
Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the story of the week — 38 actual points against a 15.55 projection, more than double what anyone expected. Christian McCaffrey added 20.6 and Chris Olave chipped in 18.6, both without projections on record but clearly carrying the load for The HenDawgs.
On the other side, Colston Loveland was a disaster at 0.8 points, Courtland Sutton undershot his 7.94 projection by finishing at just 4, and the Philadelphia Eagles defense mustered only 5. Dilly Dilly simply didn't get production where it needed it.
The Bench
Morten left real points on the table. Rachaad White scored 11.3 sitting on the bench while Colston Loveland started and put up 0.8 — that's 10.5 points lost right there, the single biggest bench regret of the week. Chris Godwin added another sting, scoring 7.3 unused while the Eagles defense started and returned 5, a loss of 2.3. And Brian Thomas outscored Courtland Sutton on the bench, 5.5 to 4, costing another 1.5.
The Swing
Even the worst individual lineup call — the Loveland-over-White decision worth 10.5 points — doesn't come close to erasing a 27.72-point margin. This wasn't lost on the bench. The HenDawgs won this one on the field, full stop.
Positional Results
| Position | Home | Edge | Away | Delta |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| QB | 6.2 | 16.2 proj 17.8 | -10.0 | |
| RB | 42.1 | 30.9 proj 35.7 | +11.2 | |
| WR | 41.3 | 54.0 proj 35.3 | -12.7 | |
| TE | 0.8 | 16.0 proj 8.8 | -15.2 | |
| DEF | 5.0 | 6.0 proj 8.9 | -1.0 |
Dilly Dilly actually won the RB column outright, but got buried at quarterback, wide receiver, and especially tight end, where a 15.2-point swing tells the Loveland story all over again in position-group form.
Standings Impact
Dilly Dilly falls to 0-2 with a differential now sunk to -47.24 — that's a hole, and with only 12 weeks left and 6 wins needed for the playoffs, there's not much runway left to dig out before last place and the Pink conversation start getting real. The HenDawgs move to 1-1 with a differential of 10.22, a much healthier position heading into the rest of the season.
