Germarican Wily Wieners vs Armadildos — Week 2 Recap
The Result
Armadildos ran away with this one, 106.52 to 61.94, a 44.58-point margin that wasn't competitive after the opening whistle. Sebastian's squad topped its projection of 101.79, finishing at 106.52. Chris's Germarican Wily Wieners did the opposite — projected for 110.65, they managed only 61.94. That's not a bad week, that's a collapse.
The Correction
Last week I called this one for Germarican Wily Wieners (Chris), by 13.84. Wrong. Flatly wrong — Chris didn't just lose, he lost by more than three times the margin I predicted, in the other direction. Season record on picks: 2 of 10. I'll take that on the chin; that's what the ledger is for.
Who Delivered, Who Didn't
Jonathan Taylor put up 27.2 against a projection of 17.37 — a real outlier performance. Ja'Marr Chase (23 actual vs. 14.22 projected) and Stefon Diggs (19.2 actual vs. 10.31 projected) both nearly doubled their numbers. That kind of week from three skill players is exactly how you blow a projection out.
On the other side, DJ Moore was a disaster, posting -0.1 against a 10.92 projection. Dallas Goedert barely existed — 0.9 actual versus 8.32 projected. And the Chiefs defense, projected for 8.55, returned just 1. Three players, three no-shows, all in the same lineup.
The Bench
Chris left real points on the table. Denzel Boston scored 18 on his bench while Kayshon Boutte started and returned 5.2 — a 12.8-point gap right there. Juwan Johnson added 8.6 unused while DJ Moore's -0.1 occupied a starting spot, costing 8.7 more. Dallas Goedert's ice-cold 0.9 start over Woody Marks' 6 cost another 5.1. Even the smallest miss, Tyjae Spears over Tony Pollard, bled 1 point.
The Swing
This one wasn't decided by a lineup call — my flag says so, and the math backs it up. Even if Chris had fixed his single biggest bench regret and gotten the extra 12.8 points from Denzel Boston, he'd still have lost by roughly 32 points. No single swap closes a 44.58-point gap. This was a total-performance beatdown, not a bad Sunday decision.
Positional Results
| Position | Home | Edge | Away | Delta |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| QB | 14.7 proj 20.3 | 8.0 proj 18.9 | +6.7 | |
| RB | 13.5 proj 40.7 | 41.7 proj 37.7 | -28.2 | |
| WR | 31.8 proj 32.8 | 33.2 proj 27.6 | -1.4 | |
| TE | 0.9 proj 8.3 | 14.1 proj 11.2 | -13.2 | |
| DEF | 1.0 proj 8.6 | 9.5 proj 6.4 | -8.5 |
Home won the air war at QB and basically split WR, but the RB spot got demolished (13.5 to 41.7) and TE and DEF were nonexistent for Chris. That's the whole story of the game in one table.
Standings Impact
Armadildos move to 2-0, looking every bit like the season's early class — their points differential now sits at 78.04, the best kind of number to carry into Week 3. Germarican Wily Wieners fall to 1-1, with a differential of -27.08 that needs correcting fast. With 6 wins required for a playoff spot and anything at 4 or fewer risking last place — the Pink — Chris has 12 weeks left to make sure this loss reads as a blip and not a pattern.
